As the Netbook world evolves, another generation of compact sturdy netbooks arrives just for the Christmas buying season (and back to school).

Samsung has addressed many of the concerns of netbooks buyers by making the Samsung Go Netbook a joy to type on. Keyboard pitch and size seem to be just right and are gathering great reviews.

The Samsung Go Netbook’s screen is clear and sharp and the rubberized case feels solid and won’t slip from hands easily.

Perhaps the best feature of the Samsung Go Netbook is the inclusion of a 6 cell (8850 mAh) high-capacity battery that allows for up to 9 hours of portable use. This time has been verified by several netbook owners.

The Samsung Go Netbooks are fairly standard in the 10.1″ class:

  • 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor
  • 1GB DD2R RAM
  • 160GB Hard Drive
  • Windows XP Home,
  • Up to 9 Hours of Battery Life (6 Cell 8850mAh)
  • 10.1″ wide LED-backlit LCD display

The Samsung Go includes 54g Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and also features a 3-in-1 memory card reader, three USB ports, and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR.

These are great, long lasting, lightweight machines and should be on anyone’s list of best netbooks.

Acer Aspire One 11.6 inch Netbook

Acer Aspire One 11.6 inch Netbook

The 11.6″ netbook category has very compelling spec’s for mobile PC users:

- 11.6″ 1366 x 768-pixel resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio screen

- Full size keyboard

- Lightweight

- Fast Enough

- 7+ hour battery life

However, the initial reviews of the Acer Aspire One AO751h were not that positive as users complained about the speed of operation, even with the included 2GB of memory installed.

It seems the culprit was Windows Vista….

Reports using Windows 7 beta are very positive.

To address the speed issue, Acer has introduced the Acer Aspire One AO751h-1145 11.6-Inch Netbook which has the 1.3 GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, 160 GB hard disk drive, 1 GB of RAM, and the Microsoft Windows XP Home operating system.

We think Acer has solved the speed issue with this update.

Mastering Criminal Law

Posted in category Criminal Law, law book

Mastering Criminal Law provides a clear and concise consideration of the fundamental structure of a crime, including statutory interpretation and sentencing. It has chapters on the typical crimes covered in most criminal law casebooks, namely homicide, rape, assault and battery, and theft.

Mastering Criminal Law extends the study to newer forms of crimes, such as criminal enterprises, and includes chapters on accomplice liability, solicitation, attempt and conspiracy. The book covers the traditional defenses seen in criminal law courses and also examines the concept of what is a defense. Cultural defenses and the right to present a defense are included. Many factual examples come from real-world cases.

The learning tools used throughout Mastering Criminal Law provide an overview of the subject, reinforcement of basic principles, and a better understanding of criminal law principles.
