Obama stumbles badly with Biden choice

Aside from the obvious reasons that Obama should not have chosen Joe Biden,

we think that this was Barack Obama’s most crucial error todate.

It is severe enough of an error that it may cost Obama the election.

There is nothing “wrong” with Joe Biden. He’s a nice guy, hard worker, knows foreign policy, etc.

However, this is an ELECTION, and election’s are about winning.  We’re sure some exbrainsurgeon political strategists thought that teaming the Biden (white, catholic, foreign policy experience) with Obama would offset Obama’s weaknesses and balance the ticket.

This is the wrong approach, and could prove fatal to Obama’s candidacy.

It alieniates all 18M of Hillary Clinton’s supports, including the Clintons. It alienates most women voters. It hands the South to John McCain. It completely eliminates the “Change” theme from Obama’s arsenal of weapons.

Vote for change, vote for Joe Biden?  Vote for change, vote for someone who would pick Biden as his running mate?

Only a miracle at the convention (pick Hillary as VP) can save this ticket.

If McCain picks Huckabee or a southern woman, the race is over.
