Yahoo tells Microsoft to kiss off
Monday, February 11, 2008 8:07Yahoo turned down Microsoft’s unsolicited $44.6 billion takeover bid.
Yahoo deemed the offer inadequate.
Never mind that it is a stupid idea and will ruin both companies while providing no increase in shareholder value.
Never mind that it would put “America’s worst CEO”, Steve Ballmer in charge of the number 2 and 3 internet search companies. Steve doesn’t get it. He just doesn’t get it. He didn’t foresee one Apple product almost putting Motorola out of the smartphone market, instead he brags about the Motorola Q.
The name of game today is INNOVATION. That is why Apple is winning.
We fully expect Microsoft to raise its offer by $5 billion to $12 billion to get Yahoo to sell. Analysts state that Yahoo is believed to want a bid of at least $56 billion, or about $40 per share.
Microsoft is a great company with tons of money but terrible management. This latest escapade is a perfect example of mismanagement of the highest order.
Why isn’t Microsoft winning the internet advertising battle with Google? Do you really think that it was because they didn’t throw enough money or resources at it? Do you really think that buying Yahoo will change that dynamic?
Steve Ballmer is a disgrace and should be removed by the Board of Directors immediately.
Microsoft needs an injection of IDEAS from an INNOVATIVE leader who can build teams of CREATORS that can beat Google at its own game. They don’t need to ruin Yahoo while destroying themselves.
