Giant killers

Well, we didn’t hit our scoring estimates yesterday with the Patriots and Chargers game. Brady had an off day and Tomlinson didn’t play much so we’re attributing the lower-than-expected scoring to that.  That being said, a win is a win.

The Superbowl will be a different story. The media is already calling for a Giant upset, so they can build up a Giant story, but it will be a Giant blowout instead.  New England has had the luxury of playing the Giants just a few weeks ago and they have seen all that they need to see.  Manning’s perfect playing will come to an end as he feels the heat from an intense Patriot defense.  (Hopefully, the media’s Manning frenzy will cool a bit after this as both brothers fall this year).

Coughlin is no Belichek and this will be very obvious in the big game. The Superbowl may actually be a good lesson for young coaches to learn about how to adjust and prepare for an opponent. It will definitely be a lesson for Coughlin and the Giants.

The Patriots have many things to play for:

  • Superbowl
  • 19-0
  • Brady’s redemption for the Charger’s game (look for him to shoot the lights out)
  • Payback for the last game with the Giants

The Patriots will not only cover the spread for the Superbowl, they will bury it.

It will be the culmination of a historic NFL season, and something we may not see again in our lifetimes.
