Mayhem in Miami

We live in a scary world, but its becoming more difficult to say what scares me more.

The arrest Friday of a group of men allegedly planning a ”jihad” that was intended to be “as good or greater than 9/11.”  Narseal Batiste a/k/a “Brother Naz” a/k/a “Prince Manna” appears to be the ringleader of this group.

According to the indictment, Batiste “recruited and supervised individuals in order to organize and train for a mission to wage war against the United States government, which included a plot to destroy by explosives the Sears Tower in Chicago, Illinois,” the nation’s tallest building, the document said.

“The conspirators pledged an oath to al Qaeda and supported a purported mission of al Qaeda to destroy FBI buildings within the United States,” it said.

The document said that Batiste wanted to “attend al Qaeda training, along with five of his soldiers, during the second week of April and further detailed his mission to wage a ‘full ground war’ against the United States in order to ‘kill all the devils we can’ … beginning with the destruction of the Sears Tower.”

The indictment accuses the seven men of swearing an oath of loyalty to al Qaeda. The document also alleges that the suspects may have been targeting buildings other than the Sears Tower.

I think what scares me is that the pre-emptive success of these operations just make the ”left” sizzle and squirm so in the summer’s heat.  So wounded and tortured by their political blinders are they that they just can’t recognize progress, or even acknowledge something that is inherently positive, for what it is.  Sure there is some grandstanding and sure there may be too many cameras at the announcement, but c’mon, get over it.

Time has a way of healing all wounds.  This is the construct of the human experience.  It is why we continue to press on when love ones leave us suddenly. It is a fundamental defense mechanism that helps the body cope with unimaginable loss.  It is a gift, as well as a curse.

There will be a lot of bashing going on over this in the next few days, but through it all we should peel back our emotional healing and try to remember.  This is the world we live in, it is our reality.  We can neither hide nor pretend that it does not exist.  Some things have to rise above petty politics.

What really scares me are the rantings of a pseudo-intellectual press which publishes for their cause regardless of the long-term consequences of those words.  This latest action against a growing threat will be scorned from the far left and buried by the moderate left.

They need to ask themselves, would you really rather have these guys running around unchecked?
